BIOGRAPHY
LDS records state Valentinus Stritzki was the son of Ludovici Stritzki and
Anna Mariae Lauchs, and that he married Anna Seits 14 Nov 1854, Katholisch, Heidweiler, Rheinland, Preussen.
The family was living in Michigan when the eldest children were born:
Michael in 1855, and Bernard in 1856. By 1860 they were living in New
York City where Valentine Stritzky was enumerated, working as a
locksmith.
In this census Valentine and Anna had two children: George, who must be
Bernard, and Annie. In 1880 Valentine was living on the
Lower East Side and was
employed as a locksmith. With him were his wife Annie, daughter Mina [wife of
Edward Frey], and sons Bernard and
George. Also living with them are
his son Michael Stritzky and
wife Louise and their children Lizzie and
George; and Valentine's son-in-law Edmund Fry [Edward
Frey] with his daughter Annie.
Iron working was apparently the family trade, as not only Valentine was
employed in the iron works, but also his son George P. Stritzky.
Valentine was apparently still employed in this capacity in 1890, at the age
of 63.
