BIOGRAPHY
Nettie Lutze was the daughter of John J. Lutze and his first wife, Carria Green. Her mother died when Nettie was 5 or 6 years old. After John's second marriage to Harriet___, Nettie went with them to Philadelphia and then to Colorado in the 1880s. At the time of her marriage to James Frank Snodgrass, she was living in Akron, Colorado, about thirty miles east of Denver. James Snodgrass was born in West Virginia and at the time of their marriage was living in Georgetown, Colorado, a silver mining area.

Nettie and James had one son, Bretherd, called Bert or B.D., who was born June 1889. After the death of her husband Nettie moved to Abbott, Colorado, where she was a school teacher in 1900. She married second, the divorcee Ezra L. Thompson of Flagler, Kit Carson County, Colorado. Ezra as a stock farmer in 1910. Ten years later they were living in Otero County and Ezra was no longer working, age 62. They then returned to Flagler where Ezra was a proprietor of a hotel, and Nettie was the manager.
