BIOGRAPHY
Louise Baumgartel was living with her mother and step-father in 1900 and married at about age 29 to Charles Kruse.  Charles was born in 1862 in Germany and came to America about 1877.  We don't know the name of Charles' first wife, nor if they had any children. In the 1900 census, enumerated on a different page, Charles is living at 688 Park Ave., Brooklyn, the same address as his future wife, "Louisa Baumgartel." Charles Kruse was naturalized, but that record has not been found.  In 1900 he was working as a hatter maker and Louise was employed as a millener, so it's likely they were working in the same establishement.  Charles later worked for a printing company in Brooklyn, and both he and Louise were still living in 1930.

Charles and Louise Kruse had one child Howard Kruse, b. 1907, d. Aug. 1968, Greenville, Florida.  Howard and his wife Anna had a son Howard D. Kruse, born 22 Nov 1927, died 7 Sep 1999, Syosset, Nassau Co., NY.

Charles Kruse died in Brooklyn on 8 April 1936 and Louise passed away three years earlier on 4 July, 1933.
