BIOGRAPHY
In 1910 John Muller/Miller was working as a Chauffeur in a garage, age
17. He probably married his wife Lila G. Ricker in Haverstraw or Pearl
River, Rockland Co., NY, and he became an auto mechanic in a garage.
John died before the 1930 census was taken in April. Lila’s spinster sister
Daisy Ricker was living with John and Lila in 1920, and she continued to
live with Lila after John’s death. In 1930 Lila worked as a finisher in a
dress factory, and Daisy worked there as an “operator.”
The ancestors of Lila G. Ricker can be traced back to Godfrey Ricker,
born about 1804 in Saxony, Germany. In 1880 he was widowed with two children:
Frederick Ricker, b. June 1856, and Elizabeth Ricker, born about 1853.
Frederick married Sarah____ and they had six children: Frederick, Alice,
Ernest, William, Daisy, and Lila G. Lila Ricker’s middle name may
have been Gladys, as she named her only daughter Gladys.
