BIOGRAPHY
Family lore says Henrietta Wick came alone to New York at the age of 16 to marry Christian Emil Greenwold, but the immigration record tells us a different story. Henrietta's father, John H. Wiig, accompanied Henrietta and her sister Constance to New York.

Henrietta was remembered by her grandchildren as a little woman with a round face and merry disposition. One of the only photographs shows Henrietta and Emil on a trip with their family, probably about 1922.  Henrietta died in 1942, and is buried at Putney Cemetery, Stratford, Connecticut, next to her husband.

Like many women of her day, Henrietta was active in several women's organizations.  She was a member of the Woman's Aid Society of the Stratford Congregational Church, and of the Delphian Society, a women’s organization whose purpose was to promote adult education. The Delphians published their own study guides on art, history, literature, etc., and each spoke on a specific subject at their regular meetings. Henrietta's daughter May Greenwold also was a member of the Delphian Society.  The following notice appeared in The Bridgeport Telegram, October 19, 1922. It's interesting to note that women were referred to by their husband's names.
