BIOGRAPHY
It's not clear from the census records when Harry Beck immigrated from Norway, although we're inclined to think it was about 1883. He married Eugel Wiik, probably in New York, about 1894-1895. Engel Wiik may have been the sister of Henrietta Mathilda Wick. Harry and Eugel's first two children, Hildur and Alfred, were born in New York. They then returned to Norway before 1899, where their last three children were born. The family returned to America before about 1905 and settled in Bremerton, Washington, where Harry and Eugel were still living in 1930.

Harry was a boat builder in 1910 and 1920, but became a Fisherman for "Alaska Fisheries" before 1930. Perhaps he worked with his son Hendry who was also a fisherman at this time. In 1920 Harry's sons Hendry and Thoralf both worked at the Navy Yard, which was also their place of employment noted on their WWI draft cards.

Hendry Beck married a woman named Marion____ , and Thoralf Beck married a woman surnamed ____ Kean. Nothing has been found on Alfred or Astrea.
