BIOGRAPHY
After Gertrude's husband Frank died she went to live with her widowed mother
Eva, but later rented an apartment on Cedar Avenue in Brooklyn.. In
1910 Gertrude was working as a sales lady in a department store to help
support her two young children. She continued to work in this type of
position through 1920, but was an assistant to a dentist in 1930.
Gertrude's mother Eva, age 73, moved in with Gertrude before 1930, and was
probably not well as she was no longer able to read or write. Gertrude
lived to age 85, dying in New Jersey in February, 1963. She may have been
living with her son James Senters at this time as his social security
number was issued in New Jersey.
