BIOGRAPHY
George H. Jackson, Jr. was born in Brooklyn, and lived there until moving
further out to Hempstead, Long Island. At the time of his WWI draft
registration he was working as a bank clerk at the Franklin Trust Company
at 44 Wall Street. After going through several mergers and name changes
the bank eventually became Citibank in 1976. In 1930 George had
become a Vice President of a bank, but it's
unknown if he was still working for Franklin Trust, a branch of the bank,
or a different company. By 1930 Franklin Trust had become Federal
Bank of America National Association through various mergers involving
Traders National Bank of Brooklyn, Old Colony State Bank and Bowery
National Bank of New York, and possibly others. The following year it
merged again to become the Federal National City Bank of New York.
George married Charlotte Muller about 1913 and they had two children,
Audrey Jackson born February 1916 and a son C. Wilmot Jackson
born in 1919.
